Chubby Baby Ghost

There was once an old house nestled in a small town, which was rumoured to be haunted by the ghost of a six month old baby. Legend had it that the baby had died shortly after birth and its restless spirit had never found peace.

One night, a young couple moved into the house, unaware of its haunted reputation. They had a newborn baby and were excited to start their new life in the old house. As they settled into their new home, strange things started happening. The baby would often wake up crying in the middle of the night, and they would hear sounds coming from the empty rooms.

One day the mother was cooking in the kitchen and the baby was in the crib. She heard her baby laughing. She came out of the kitchen and found that the baby was playing with someone and it was laughing every few minutes. She could not see anyone else in the room. She wondered who the baby was playing with. Then she thought the baby was playing with an imaginary friend and resumed her work.

The next day the father had taken the baby out on a pram to go round the garden. Mother was watching the television. She suddenly heard the laughter of a baby. She loved the sound of the baby's laughter. She said, "Oh you are back from the garden," and turned her head. But the room was empty. She was alone in that room. Her baby was still in the garden with the father. Mother froze and did not know what to think of it. Then she thought may be she was thinking about her baby and that is why she heard the laughter sound.

That night she was trying to feed her baby. Her baby was playful and was turning his head away whenever she tried to feed him. Again and again she was trying to coax the baby to eat. She took one more spoonful and took it near the baby' s mouth. The baby turned his head away but the food in the spoon disappeared. Mother stared at the spoon and could not think of how it might have happened. She thought her baby must have eaten it but she failed to notice. When she turned the face of her baby towards her she saw his mouth was empty. She tried with one more spoonful of baby food. Again the food disappeared and her baby's mouth was empty. She jumped up, picked up the baby and ran towards her husband.

She told her husband about the food disappearing from the spoon. Her husband couldn't believe it. He asked, "How can the food disappear? Maybe the baby ate it fast". They left it at that. After a few minutes both of them were watching TV. The baby was playing in front of them. They saw the baby's toys being thrown in different directions. When they turned to look at the baby, he was sitting quietly in one place, looking at something and laughing. The baby was not throwing anything. But all the toys were moving on their own. Both the parents froze and didn't know what to think about that.

They picked up the baby and locked themselves in the bedroom. The husband said when he was renting the house his friend had told him some strange stories about this house. But he had not believed them. He didn't tell her because she might get frightened. Now they both started thinking if they need to leave the house and move somewhere else.

After sometime they fell asleep. They woke up to the sound of a baby's cry. They assumed it was their own child, but as they checked on him, they found him fast asleep in his crib. The cries continued and they could not explain where they were coming from. They decided to investigate the source of the cries. They searched the entire house and found a hidden room that they had not noticed before. Inside the room, they found an old crib and a ghostly figure of a baby hovering over it.

The baby's ghost was crying and seemed to be in distress. The couple realized that this was the spirit of the baby who had died in the house. They offered their condolences and promised to take care of the baby, hoping that the baby's spirit could finally find peace.

The cries stopped and the baby smiled. At that moment they realised they will be taking care of not one but two babies. People who came to visit them were surprised to see their baby happily playing on his own. Only the parents knew who was keeping him happy.
